Head of School

Welcome to Dame Dorothy Primary School. 

I am incredibly proud to be the Head of School at Dame Dorothy, a school that sits at the heart of our community. We are a small school with a mighty heart, where every member of our school community is known, valued and supported. We believe that everyone should belong, learn and flourish, and we work together to ensure that every child feels safe, happy and confident to achieve their very best. 

Our values of Ready, Respectful and Safe are at the centre of everything we do. They help create a positive environment where children develop confidence, kindness and resilience, enabling them to flourish both academically and personally. 

We have high expectations for all our pupils and provide a rich, engaging curriculum that celebrates the cultural heritage of our local community while offering a wide range of opportunities to enrich learning beyond the classroom. Alongside academic success, we are committed to developing healthy bodies and healthy minds through daily exercise, active play and a broad range of enrichment opportunities. 

As a proud Thrive School, we place great importance on supporting the social and emotional development of every child. Thrive helps us ensure that children feel secure, understood and ready to learn, allowing them to flourish throughout their time with us.
